This is a game changer

This book is not one I could read without stopping. It is too thought provoking and there is too much stuff, clearly written and understandable, that demands you try it out in your own life. I would say that this book will be by my bed, on my smartphone, and on my computer, AND used/read often for a very long time. I have been reading Colin Robertson's blog for quite a while so some of the material was repetitive for me which has turned out not to be a bad thing. After that, I still keep discovering things that read like I never understood them before and I suspect that is going to be the case for many years. This book is a game changer. It is a paradigm shifter. For me personally it has empowered me, even at a fairly late stage in life to chase a dream that most people would think impossible and rather ridiculous. Thanks Colin - thanks for a new stab at life.

Game-changing, life-improving scientifically-backed success!

This book is a game-changing, life-improving scientifically-backed success. Through the stories of struggle, perseverance and triumph of the world's greatest minds in different fields, I was able to relate to and grasp key concepts of willpower to help understand the drivers behind my actions. Through understanding these concepts, I have been able to adjust my perspective and figure out what exactly it is that not only brings about high levels of willpower to my everyday life, but also what drains me of it as I continue in my search of ways to positively build and develop myself professionally and personally. Most importantly, though, this book does an amazing job of demonstrating, through the example of 12 incredibly successful human beings, how belief in oneself, grit, and the vision or purpose one sets forth in their path ties into willpower, and how it can be used as a most valuable tool to overcome any challenge or hardship.
I'd recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Highly recommended reading

If you like Tim Ferris, Daniel Coyle, and other talent gurus, then this book is an absolute must for you.
Finished up this book yesterday. I loved it. It was essentially a summary of all of the things I have been reading in regards to talent and self-improvement. I really enjoyed the final parts of each chapter which made things so actionable (strategies and key points).
Loved the quote: "Failure isn't final."..one of my favs in the book.
High-levels I took away from the book (that I haven't yet encountered in others):
- Workout exercising pain is not real and is from the primitive brain.
- Set 'process-based' goals, not 'results-based' goals.
- Food Cravings are in primitive brain
Finally, I'm trying to make my basketball workout routine for the summer and will use this book as a reference.
